Prospective Students

Dr. Kuo is currently recruiting new graduate students to participate in CLIC. We welcome new members with diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds to join our team!

Dr. Kuo is committed to mentoring the next generation of researchers and has a successful mentoring record. In addition to being first- and co-authors of articles published in high-impact journals, her students also have won prestigious external awards in the field, including fellowships from the Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL) International Association, American Educational Research Association (AERA) - Division C: Learning & Instruction, American Psychological Association (APA) - Division 15: Educational Psychology, and Education Testing Service (ETS).

Current TAMU Students

We are currently recruiting graduate and undergraduate researchers to CLIC, a vibrant and dynamic research group!

Graduate students have the option of taking a directed research study with Dr. Kuo to work on a CLIC research project. Students are expected to produce a first- or co-authored conference presentation or journal article by the end of the semester. The expected time commitment for a directed research study is around 6-8 hours per week.

Undergraduate students can participate either as volunteers or through the College of Education and Human Development Undergraduate Student Research Initiative Program (USRI) or the TAMU Undergraduate Research Scholar Program. Dr. Kuo has a successful track record mentoring undergraduate students. Undergraduate assistants she has mentored have won First Place in Poster Presentation at TAMU Student Research Week and Outstanding Undergraduate Awards from the Department of Teaching, Learning, and Culture.

Paid positions may also be available for current TAMU students.

Family, Community, and World Language Education Programs

Dr. Kuo is a passionate advocate for linguistic diversity and multilingual awareness and actively engages in heritage language education and world language education. Dr. Kuo loves to share her experience as a researcher, teacher educator, director of world language programs, and parent of multilingual and multiliterate children with the community and beyond.
